Youth Services are available at no monetary cost, for those who qualify. You must meet all of the following five requirements to qualify.
Are you...
a senior in high school
From a low-income family or self-supporting
Experiencing one of these barriers:
have dropped out of school
are out-of-school and have not secured employment or training
are pregnant or a parent
have disabilities - physical, learning, mental
are in foster care, are homeless, or a runaway
have been involved with the juvenile justice system
have trouble with basic reading and/or math
are an "at risk" youth - defined by school staff
A U.S. citizen
Registered with Selective Service (men only)
If you answered yes to these questions, you may qualify for a youth training program under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). To find out more information, contact your local one-stop career center and ask to speak with KCDEE Youth Services Employment and Training Representative.
